We normally do not ask. We are all prepared to answer their question but never prepared to ask them one. This can put your selection one step back. So What do we have to ask. The HR is interested to know of you willing to blend in with the company culture and their codes which they follow. Your interest in them will spark interest in you, Why would one love you if you dont love them back. Exceptions are there but that is not the point here.
Every company has a different on boarding process. Ask them theirs.
Homework is necessary , Know the employers mission statement. Ask how will your role strive towards achieving those goals.
This question might give them a moment to answer. Ask a reason why the employees of the firm love working at the company.
Also try to ask their view point. What do they like and dislike?
